Pitch glide

Portamento hears the note you play and, on a new note, slides the output from the old pitch to the new — the connective glide a fretted instrument can’t make on its own. Subtle, it is vocal, fretless legato that sits in a mix; pushed, it is gliding, microtonal, between-pitch lines. Monophonic: clean legato tracks beautifully.
